PANELING
CRITERIA: Make this 1770's Colonial half house livable and still have a Georgian feel in it's styling. Very often period homes do not accommodate modern living; staircases and the general traffic flow are difficult to live with and often dangerous. This 1770's home was tyipcal of this problem. A decision not to restore the home but to use typical Georgian detailing was made.

The small door and first row of panels were reproduced to repair the only original wall of paneling on the second story.

The original panelled wall and staircase on the first story were removed years ago. This wall with closets was created not as a restoration but a complimenting feature.

The replacement staircase style is also Georgian but not typical of local colonial layout. The hand rail is a work in progress and incomplete.
