CRITERIA: Doorways and windows establish the design, the symmetry, and the overall scale of a building. Applying storm doors and storm windows on them can compromise the style and charm.

The plank-framed window at left is attached to the outside of the house's wall giving an increased depth to the inside window frame. The detachable storm window shown below takes little away from the visual effect of the plank-frame.

This "window" gives the owner the feeling that her interior bathroom has a connection to the outdoors.

The client provided a stained glass fragment she had rescued from an earlier home and we designed a frame around it.

The basement window at left was custom-designed with an interior magnetic storm window. The storm window is installed and removed in a couple of seconds without tools.
